

A native of Iberville and resident of Baker passed away Sunday, October 6, 2013, at the age of 84. He retired from the Baton Rouge Fire Department as the district Chief and served in the US Navy. He loved fishing and hunting, but his greatest joys in life were his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home 9595 Florida Blvd on Tuesday, October 8, 2013, from 5 PM until 9 PM and will resume on Wednesday, October 9, 2013, from 12 PM until funeral service at 2 PM. Interment will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Leila Kimble Duplessis; one daughter, Jan Fontenot and husband, Kirk; three sons, Kerry Duplessis and wife, Diane, Steve Duplessis and wife, Virginia, and Brent Duplessis and wife, Kathy; three beloved stepsons, Michael Castille, Kenny Castille and wife, Vicki, and Larry Castille and wife, Katie; daughter in law, Nicki Castille; two sisters, Ida Coon and Marie Bordelon and husband, Richard; three brothers, O.J. Duplessis and wife Eva, Ivy Duplessis and wife, Ruth, and Jimmy Duplessis and wife, Grace; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Theofield and Eunice Duplessis; previous wife, Marion Jewell Duplessis; stepson, Randy Castille; and daughter in law, Lou Anna Castille.
