

"Karen Lynn Whittington Farr passed away on Friday November 2, 2018, surrounded by those who loved her most, her husband and children. Karen was born on April 8, 1941 in Gulf Port, Mississippi. She was the only child of Eula Howell and Leroy Whittington. A graduate of Louisiana State University, Karen was a lifelong LSU fan. She taught elementary school for over thirty years; primarily in East Baton Rouge Parish and her gentle ways touched countless students. She was quick to laugh and had a soul that radiated kindness.Karen adored her husband and children and was a loving mother and spouse. In addition to her human family, she was very devoted to her dogs. In her final years, Bandit, her Australian Shepherd, considered her his most cherished flock. All creatures, family and friends delighted in Karen's company. Karen is survived by her husband of fifty-four-years, Dr. A. James "Jim" Farr; two children, Allison Farr Walden and husband Michael, Reagan Farr and wife Jessica, as well as four grandchildren, Catlin and Daniel Walden, and Cody and Ryan Farr. There will be visitation at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Thursday November 8 from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Graveside services will be at Hollywood Cemetery in McComb, Mississippi on November 9 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers contributions to St. Jude Children's Hospital would be appreciated.
