Karen "Susie" Guidry Maggio

Karen “Susie” Guidry Maggio earned her heavenly wings at 12:11 am on March 10, 2021 at the age of 61. To know her was to love her. She was a kind, loving and beautiful soul. Karen worked for the City of Baton Rouge for 25 years before retiring. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends and going on vacation. Karen is survived by her sweet mother, Vivian R. Guidry; brother, Gary Guidry (Patty); sister, Terri Dentro Creel (Edward); sons, Chris Maggio (Shanaka), Kerry Maggio, and Michael Maggio; grandchildren, Lauren, Casey, Brennan, Hailey, Isabelle, and Casen; mother-in-law, Lucy Maggio; nieces, Kristy, Brandy and Sarah; nephew, Scotty; and numerous great nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Nick C. Maggio; father, Ivan R. Guidry, Jr.; and father-in-law, Nick Maggio. The family would like to extend their deepest appreciation to the doctors and nurses at Baton Rouge General Blue Bonnet for their love and care. Family and friends are invited to gather at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd, on Thursday, March 11, 2021 from 4 pm until 7 pm. A mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, 14040 Greenwell Springs Rd, on Friday, March 12, 2021 at 10:00 am. Burial will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park Cemetery.
