

Kathy Dupuy was born Aug. 4, 1942, and passed away Saturday, May 21, 2011, surrounded by her loving family members in her home in Baton Rouge. She was a native of Baton Rouge and retired from Blue Cross with more than 30 years of service. She touched many hearts and lives in her lifetime and always gave of herself to others. She loved baking and loved fishing and enjoyed times with her many friends. She was surrounded by her many friends and caregivers, which gave her comfort and strength during her long illness. Never did she utter a word of despair during this time. She loved her life. Her faith in God provided strength and her wonderful smile shined through to all who knew her. She is at home in Heaven and in peace. She is survived by her loving husband of 41 years, LeRoy Anthony Dupuy. He never left her side and truly was a devoted husband to her. Also survived by a sister, Janicé G. Weems and husband Sam Weems; nephews, Brad D. Weems, and Samuel Chad Weems and wife Paola; great-niece, Brianna Weems; brother–in-law, Charles Dupuy; sister-in-law, Dorothy Cannon and husband Billy Cannon; nephew, Billy Cannon Jr.; and numerous other nieces and nephews. Visitation at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., on Monday, May 23, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visitation at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Brogdon Lane, on Tuesday, May 24, from 12:30 p.m. until a Mass of Christian Burial at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Fr. Jerry Martin, celebrant. Interment in Greenoaks Memorial Park. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ethel S. Germany and Bruce Millard; and grandparents, Kate C. O'Neal and Huby O'Neal. Pallbearers will be Brad Weems, Chad Weems, Samuel Weems, Nicholas Vidrine, David Vidrine and Richard Moinot. Many heartfelt thanks to her doctors, David Hansen and staff (Mary Bird Perkins) and Dr. John DeGroot (MD Anderson Brain Unit) and special care giver Gloria Coslon.
