Katherine"Kathie"Riddle Accordo

An employee of St. John the Baptist Human Services, she died Sunday, Jan. 25, 2009, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. She was 50, a native and resident of Baton Rouge. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Wednesday, Jan. 28, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visiting at Broadmoor Presbyterian Church on Thursday from 11 a.m. until religious service at 1 p.m., conducted by Rev. Hawley Wolfe. Interment in Greenoaks Memorial Park. Survived by her father and stepmother, James M. and Sally Riddle; three daughters, Christy McDowell and husband Jim, Angela Sloan and husband Jeff and Veronica Accardo; stepsister, Audrey Rojo; stepbrother, Blaine Fields; numerous nieces and nephews; and former husband and father of her children, Ronnie Accardo. Preceded in death by her mother, Budie Riddle; daughter, Jessie; and brother, Doug Riddle. Pallbearers will be Jim McDowell, Blaine Fields, Donnie Accardo, Charlie Scott, Brandon Scott and Allen Scott. She was a member of Broadmoor Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to the Kathie Accardo Memorial Fund at Broadmoor Presbyterian Church, 9340 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA 70815. Funds will be used to help defray final expenses, with the balance going to the Johnson Memorial Fund for Youth Ministry at Broadmoor Presbyterian Church.
