

New Orleans, Louisiana. He departed this life on Saturday, June 19, 2021.
Keith entered this world with his fraternal companion, Kimberly as the tenth blessing to the
family. They were eagerly welcomed by siblings and loved ones. His early education began at
Adolph Meyer Elementary School in New Orleans, LA. He is a 1985 graduate of Oliver Perry
Walker High School in New Orleans, LA. Shortly after graduating, he enlisted in the United
States Army and fully enjoyed the perks of traveling the world. He later enrolled in “The”
Southern University A&M College in Baton Rouge, LA and received his B.S. in Therapeutic
Recreation and Leisure Studies in the Fall of 1995. Keith is a Spring 1992 initiate of the Alpha
Sigma Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.
On December 16, 1995, He married the love of his life, Lisa Renee Laws. To their union three
beautiful bouncing boys were born, Ja’Bori Dontee’ “Bo” Hilliard, Christian Javon Malik “Deke”
Hilliard and Ma’Khail Johnathan “Mooch” Hilliard.
He leaves to cherish his memories, two beautiful grandchildren, Summer Reign and Ja’Loni Hilliard who lovingly called him “Pop-Pop”. He is survived by ten siblings Louis Smith (Donna), Gary Smith (Corliss), Angela Smith-Davis (Robert), Bruce Smith (Valerie), Reginald Smith (Latasha), Vincent Smith (Khayriyyah), Sonya Julien (Donald), Pamela Douroux, Kimberly Bangura (Moses) and Derrick Hilliard. Three sisters-in-law, Charlotte Laws, Mary Jackson, and Angela Joseph and one brother-in-law Aaron Laws Jr. (Amy Nicole). His mother-in-law Shirley Laws and father-in-law Aaron Laws Sr., aunt Mary McRae (Henry) of St. Albans, NY, uncle, Robert Bullock of Monroe, Louisiana and uncle Willie Laws (Ramona) of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. His Godchildren, Yailee Bangura, Lacey Jackson, Tereva Ross and Ethan Veal and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Lastly, but certainly not least in his heart, his fur baby, Boston.
He was a dedicated employee of Shell Chemical Plant in Geismar, Louisiana, a proud member of the “Who Dat Nation”, and a devoted LSU fan. He loved to cheer on his favorite pitcher and son Ma’Khail Hilliard.
Visitation will be held at Zoar Baptist Church, 11848 Hooper Rd, Baton Rouge, LA 70818, on Saturday from 8 am until 10:15 am. A Kappa ceremony will begin at 10:30 am followed by a celebration of life at 11 am. Burial will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park Cemetery.
