

Kenneth Ray Wagner, 85, of Baton Rouge died Monday, December 9, 2013. A military burial service will be held at Greenoaks Memorial Park on Friday, December 13 at 2 p.m. Visitation will precede the burial at Greenoaks Funeral Home 9595 Florida Blvd. from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Kenneth was born at home in Elrama, Pennsylvania on November 23, 1928, to Earl and Elsie Wagner. He graduated from Clairton High School and proudly served in the US Army from 1951 to 1953 where he saw combat in the Korean War. Kenneth remained extremely patriotic thereafter. On May 1, 1953, Kenneth married the love of his life Carolyn Bogardus of Bethel Park, PA. They were married for 59 years until Carolyn's death in November 2012. In 1968, Kenneth accepted a job transfer from Pennsylvania to Baton Rouge. He retired from Exxon Resin after many years of service. Kenneth was preceded in death by his mother, father, and wife; daughter Bonnie Wolak; brothers Harry "Bernie" Wagner and James "Tucky" Wagner; grandson Terry Polcawich; and granddaughter Angel Chedville. Survivors include three children: Karen Rudolph and husband Vic of Durango, Colorado, Lori Chedville and husband Eddie of Prairieville, and Kenny Wagner of Broomfield, Colorado; brothers Wayne Wagner of Finleyville, Pennsylvania and Leon Wagner of Lake Hamilton, Florida; and grandchildren Brian Polcawich and Brad Chedville. The family requests that donations be made in Mr. Wagner's memory to the Baton Rouge Alzheimer\'s Association, www.alz.org.
