

Larry Allen Townsend "You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand." Psalm 16:11. A longtime resident of Greenwell Springs, Louisiana, passed away at home among his family on July 12th, 2015. A Native of Camden, New Jersey. Born June 21, 1950, he was the son of Naomi and Corbin Townsend of Lake Wales, Florida. Survived by a Brother, David Townsend (wife Anita) of Lake Wales, Florida, Husband of 40 years to Charlotte (Tolusso) Townsend and Father to Bradley Townsend (Christy) and Angela Townsend (Adam), Grandfather to Dylan Townsend, Micah Moreland, and Gage Moreland, all of Greenwell Springs, La. Sister in laws, Lynn Wyble-Laurence of Denham Springs, La., and Mary Favalora of Allen, TX. Uncle to many nieces and nephews. He served in the United States Army with the 25th Infantry Division, with service in Korea from 1967-68, and Vietnam from 1968-69 with an Honorable Discharge in 1970. His highest award, the Bronze Star with Valor, was awarded in September 29th 1969, while serving with Company B, 2nd Battalion, 22nd Infantry, in the Republic of Vietnam. After returning from active duty, he made his home in Baton Rouge, and attended LSU. Proceeded in death by parents, Naomi and Corbin Townsend, in-laws Leonard and Anne Tolusso and nephew Sgt. Paul M. Heltzel. Pallbearers: Bradley Townsend, Dylan Townsend, Austin Heltzel, Charles Wyble Jr., James McClure, and Blake Urban. Honorary Pallbearers: David Townsend, Robin Hammonds, Gary Clouatre, Funeral Arrangements: Visitation on Wednesday July 15, 2015, from 11 am to 1 pm with services at 1 pm at Rabenhorst East, 11000 Florida Blvd. 70815. Burial to follow with full Military Honors at 2:30 pm at Louisiana National Cemetery, 303 W. Mount Pleasant Road, Zachary, La. 70791.
