
A homemaker, she died at 3:43 p.m.Saturday, Jan. 27, 2007, at her home in Baton Rouge. She was 96"° and a native of Maurice. Visitation at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Monday, Jan. 29, was from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visitation resumes at the funeral home on Tuesday from 8 a.m. to 9:40 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church at 10 a.m. Tuesday, with the Rev. Vic Messina, celebrant. Interment will be atResthavenGardensof Memory. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Ray and Judy Hanks; beloved son-in-law, Leon Clouatre; daughter and beloved son-in-law, Janice and Joe Pace; eight grandchildren, Randy Clouatre and wife Tasha, Raymond Clouatre and wife Rhonda, Diane Jones and husband Todd, Donna King and husband Chris of Aspen, Colo., Diedre Johnson and husband Pat, Stacy Neeley and husband Kirk, Kevin Hanks, and Ashley May and husband Jared; 14 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Mr. Alcide Hanks; daughter, Geraldine Clouatre; granddaughter, Lacy Hanks; parents, Hebert Monte and Valerie Whittington Monte; two brothers, Edlar Monte and Cosude Monte; and sister, Mrs. Agnes Reed. Pallbearers will be Randy Clouatre, Raymond Clouatre, Todd Jones, Chris King, Jerry Lee Duplantis, Jerry Scroggins, Leon Clouatre and Joseph Pace. Honorary pallbearers are Robert E. Reed, Ronnie Monte, Steve Hanks, Mike Hanks, Andrus Bourque, Charles Faul and Lonnie Thevis. She had a wonderful life and danced for 68 years with her husband until his passing in July 2000. She was gentle, kind and loving and a great lady to be around. Our matriarch is now on the dance floor in the sky with Dad. We miss her smile and her love. She may be gone, but never, ever forgotten. Our thanks to special friends Sybil Metrailer, Sally and Dale Fleniken and Sharon and Norman Parker. Special thanks for the care and gentleness of Dr. Kyle Dean, Dr. Hershall Dean, Dr. John McClelland and Dr. Charles Mitchell. Also, to Ernestine George for 6"° years of love and care for Mother and to "Crazy" Jeanette Crais, who got us through physically, mentally and emotionally for the past six months. She made Mom and us laugh through the worst of times. Thanks also to St. George Volunteer Fire Department and Judy Lee.
