
LeEarl Griffith, 83, a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away at her home Friday, Dec. 3, 2010. She was a retired registered nurse at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center, a resident of Central and a native of Baton Rouge. Visitation at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., Sunday, Dec. 5, was from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visitation at St. Isidore the Farmer Catholic Church on Monday, Dec. 6, from 9 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m., with the Rev. Sam Maranto, celebrant. Entombment in Greenoaks Memorial Park Mausoleum. She is survived by four daughters and three sons-in-law, Barbara and Dwight Woosley, Bobbie and Kenny Champagne, Nancy and Kenneth Brummel, and Sherry Griffith; a sister, Judy D. McCants; two sisters-in-law, Ordell Griffith and Shirley Griffith; a brother-in-law, Nestor Vicknair Jr.; seven grandchildren and their spouses, Robert Woosley, John and Amanda Woosley, Allison and Rusty Roshto, Kristy and Justin Morgan, Michelle Brummel and fiancé Ryan Bridges, Kacie and Rudy Koppenol, and Robert Champagne; four great-grandchildren, Madilyn Woosley, Lani Roshto, Kade Roshto, Cameron Woosley; and expected great-grandchild, Christopher Morgan. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilbur and Ida Giroir Daspit; husband of 55 years, Robert "Bob" Griffith; two sisters, Dorothy Boyd and Shirley Vicknair; and a brother, Kenneth Daspit. Pallbearers will be Robert Woosley, John Woosley, Rusty Roshto, Justin Morgan, Ryan Bridges and Robert Champagne. Honorary pallbearers are Rudy Koppenol, Stephen McCants, Dwight Woosley, Kenny Champagne and Kenny Brummel. She was a graduate of Istrouma High School, class of 1944, a graduate of Our Lady of the Lake School of Nursing, a member of Cypress Bayou Exxon Annuitant Club, Retired Nurses and Retired OLOL Employees organizations. She had a nurturing, caring spirit, was a "guardian angel" to many and will be greatly missed by all of those she touched in this life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association, Cancer Societyor a charity of your choice.
