Lee Walter Miller Jr., a native and lifelong resident of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, passed away on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at the age of 76. Lee earned a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and later an MBA in Nuclear Science, reflecting his deep love of learning and scientific inquiry. He worked for many years as a plant supervisor, where he was respected for his diligence, leadership, and integrity. A passionate historian and avid member of the Baton Rouge Society of Miniature Gaming, Lee had a lifelong fascination with historical wars and military history. His thoughtful insight and deep knowledge made him a valued part of his community and an engaging presence to all who knew him. Lee was preceded in death by his parents, Lee Miller Sr., and Irma Maurin Miller; his brother, Michael Miller; and his nephew, SSG Michael Gabel. He is survived by his siblings, Catherine Miller Gabel, Minta Miller Planchet (Kevin), George Miller (Darlene), and Thomas Miller (Sylvia), along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends. A visitation will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Rabenhorst Funeral Home & Crematory East, 11000 Florida Boulevard, Baton Rouge. A graveside service will follow at 12:30 PM at Grace Memorial Park, 60455 Bayou Jacob Rd, Plaquemine, Louisiana. Pallbearers honored to serve are David Gabel, Brett Miller, Brandon Miller, Jack Gabel, Mathew Miller, and George Miller. Lee will be remembered for his intellect, his quiet strength, and his unwavering love for family and history. He will be deeply missed.
