Lenore Brosart Wamsley, a resident of Baton Rouge, died peacefully at her home on March 22, 2018. She was 95, a native of Buffalo, New York and is survived by her three children; a daughter, Gail Howell (Grady) of Madison, MS, sons Mark Wamsley (Debbie) of Baton Rouge and John Wamsley (Linda) of Marianna, FL; son-in-law, Louis Chemin (Beverly); seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Lenore was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Paul Wamsley; her parents, Frank and Cornelia Brosart; infant son, Thomas Wamsley; daughter, Marilyn Chemin and sister, Janet Meahl.
Ms. Lenore was a member of First Presbyterian Church for more than 60 years and served as a moderator of the Presbyterian Women. She was involved with Camp Fire Girls and had a love for flowers and gardening. She volunteered for over twenty years with Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center. Ms. Lenore enjoyed the “Great Decisions” Dinner Club and playing bridge with several clubs.
Pallbearers will be Louis Chemin, Daniel Howell, Andrew Wamsley and Manie Chemin. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Baton Rouge. Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 24, at the Dunham Chapel at First Presbyterian Church from 9:30am until religious services at 11:00am. A private burial will be held at Greenoaks Memorial Park.
