

Sonny Poché passed away on Monday, December 16, 2013 at his home in Denham Springs surrounded by family members. He was born in Gramercy on March 24, 1924. He worked at Exxon as a meter and instrumentation technician. An avid fisherman, he enjoyed fishing and traveling during his retirement. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Mary Alice Eckels Poché. He is also survived by two sons and their wives, Glen Poché and his wife Susan, Lester Poché and his wife Cathy; and one daughter Lynette Moran. He had ten grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Leonce Paul Poché, Sr. and Maria Ella Genre Poché; stepmother Gertrude Falcon Poché, brothers Leonce P. "Bill" Poché, Jr. and Elmore "Tot" Poché and sisters Marie Bullion, Jeannette "Paps" Curtis, Lucille "Sis" McAllister and Agnes Poché and son Leonard Joseph Poché, Jr. Visitation will be held atRabenhorst Funeral Home East,Thursday from 5:00pm to 9:00pm. Visitation will resume Friday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Denham Springs, from 12:00pm until the Mass of Christian Burial at 12:30pm, conducted by the Rev. Frank Uter.
