Leslie David (L.D.) Kelleher Jr., a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, went to be with his Heavenly Father on Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at the age of 82 years old. L.D. was adored by all who were lucky enough to know him. He is survived by his wife, Yvonne Hutcheson Kelleher; his daughter, Laurie Kelleher; his three stepdaughters, Vondel Ogden Stone and husband Jeffrey, Coleen Ogden O'Brien and husband Mark, and Frances Ogden Ackelsberg and husband Shaye; his stepson Randy Ogden and wife Karen; nine grandchildren; one great-grandson; siblings: Ralph Kelleher, Linda Kelleher Villar and husband Stanley, Pat Kelleher Harris and husband Bubba; his sister-in- laws, Lavonne (Bebo) Kelleher and Jo Ann Kelleher; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leslie David Sr. and Thelma Bergeron Kelleher; three brothers, Robert (Bobby) Kelleher, Ronald Kelleher and Keith Kelleher; his sister-in-law, Charlotte Crifasi Kelleher; his son David Kelleher; and his step granddaughter, Kelli Varnado. After serving in the U.S. Air Force, L.D. received his Masters in Landscape Architecture from LSU in 1963 and went on to become a successful residential and commercial landscape architect. He was very active in the Baton Rouge Home Builders Association and, throughout the years, served in numerous other civic organizations. He was an accomplished woodsman and supremely gifted in the kitchen having prepared a meal for four U.S. presidents. L.D. will also be remembered for his dry, acerbic wit. He lived gently and purposefully in all that he did and has left us with our hearts broken but a vast trove of wonderful memories. His visitation will be held at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Gov't. Street, Thursday from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. Visitation will resume Friday from 10:00am until the Memorial Service at 11:00am, conducted by the Rev. Donald Tabb. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Baton Rouge Regional Eye Bank at 7777 Hennessy Blvd, Suite 207, Baton Rouge, LA 70808.
