

Lillian Irene Kearns Pickering passed away peacefully on March 9, 2026, at the age of 97. A native of Alexandria, Louisiana, and a longtime resident of Livingston, Louisiana, she was born on August 24, 1928. Lillian was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother whose presence was the heartbeat of her home. A devoted homemaker, she dedicated her life to caring for her family and nurturing those she loved. She had childlike faith in God, kind spirit, and gentle heart. She was truly a beautiful soul who touched the lives of many. She loved gardening, cooking for her family, and was known for a spotless home. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ford Pickering Sr.; her daughter, Linda Irene Pickering; her parents, Arthur and Sudie Kearns; one sister and three brothers. She is survived by her children and their spouses: Ford (Debbie) Pickering Jr., Gwendolyn (Howard) Graham, and Carol Castle; her grandchildren and their spouses: Jason (Stephanie), Wes (Hannah), Robyn, Edward (Jennifer), Eric, Ryan (Sha), Lauren, Michael Jude, and Angie (Nicky); step-grandchildren: Julio, Jonathan, and Jeremie; great-grandchildren: Theadocia,Tyler, Brayden, Blake, Brianna, Dylan, Angel, Hayleigh, Adam, Cora, and Ashleigh; and two great-great-grandchildren. Pallbearers honored to serve are Edward Neely, Eric Hallford, Ryan Hallford, Michael Jude Mixon, Jason Pickering, and Wes Pickering. A graveside service will be held on March 12, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Greenoaks Memorial Park, 9595 Florida Blvd, Baton Rouge, Louisiana 70815. Her son and grandson, who are both pastors, Ford Pickering and Wes Pickering, will officiate her memorial service. Though she will be deeply missed, her family finds comfort in knowing she is now in the presence of the Lord and reunited with loved ones in Heaven.
