Born in Carville on June 6, 1925, and a resident of St. Gabriel, she died Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2008, at her home. She was 83. Visitation will be at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, River Road, St. Gabriel, on Friday, Oct. 24, from 9 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Anthony Russo, celebrant. Entombment in the church mausoleum. Preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Glynn Hernandez; two brothers, John A. and Wallace E. Wintz; and parents, Mr. and Mrs. John A. Wintz Sr. Survived by her children, Glynn Hernandez Jr., Terry Hernandez and Cindy Hernandez Gaudet; and grandchildren, Holland, Jo Anna, Chase and Brianne Hernandez and Alex, Erick and Sarah Gaudet. Also survived by her sister, Mary Emma Webster; and brother, Louis Wintz. She was a member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church Ladies Altar Society, NARFE Chapter 99, Baton Rouge, East Ascension Sportsman League and American Legion Auxiliary Unit 312. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to St. Gabriel Catholic Church religious education fund.
