Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not to your own understanding. (Proverbs 3:5) Lou was a resident of Denham Springs and a native of Baton Rouge. She passed away on Saturday February 18, 2012 at The Carpenter House at the age of 87. She was a very loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, sister and friend. She will be greatly missed by all those that knew her. She is survived by one daughter Valerie Penn and husband Leo; two sons Harold Bergeron and Louis Bergeron and wife Gale; three brothers Joseph Slocum, Trellis Slocum and Wayne Slocum; seven grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father Hugh Slocum, mother Bertha Joiner Slocum, husband Alvin Bergeron, sister Faye Thompson, brother Harold Slocum and grandson Scott Randall Penn.
