

LAVIGNE, Louis OscarLouis always put others in front of himself. He loved going over and beyond to take care of others. Everyone who remembers him is asked to celebrate his life in their own way. We hope that, in his name, you will do an unexpected and unsolicited act of kindness for someone else. Louis was a retired industrial paint contractor who passed away at his home at the age of 69, after battling lung disease. He was a native and resident of Baton Rouge and was a veteran of the United States Army, having served during the Vietnam Era. He loved fishing and enjoying the great outdoors. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Renee Lavigne; two daughters: Robin Rayburn and her husband Curtis, and Angela "Angel" Satcher and her husband Trase; two sons: Frederick "Dewey" Lavigne and Louis "Louie" Lavigne, Jr.; and three sisters. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother, Rose Mary Seguin Lavigne; father, Joseph Augustine Lavigne; brother, "Little Joe" Lavigne; and grandson, Curtis Rayburn, Jr. Visitation will be on Thursday evening at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd, from 5pm until 9pm. Visitation will resume on Friday morning at 11am and will continue until funeral service at 1pm in the Chapel, conducted by Rev. Thomas Denton. Interment will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory. His nephews will serve as Pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers are Leo Chalmers and Rodney Lewis.
