

Louis Paul LeBlanc IV “L.P.”; resident of Baton Rouge, LA passed away on Friday August 14, 2015 at the age of 74 after a courageous battle with lung cancer. His wife of 40 years, Barbara Ann Manual LeBlanc, preceded him in death, March 2000. He grew up in Baton Rouge with his mother Erna Thibodeaux, step-father Wilson Thibodeaux and 4 siblings. His father Louis Paul LeBlanc III died while serving in World War II, 327th glider infantry regiment, 101st Airborne Division. Louis graduated from Istrouma high school and attended trade school, in Opelousas, LA. While attending trade school, he met the love of his life Barbara. Barbara and Louis were married a short time later and began a family. Louis was a kind, loving and devoted husband and father. He was a hard worker with most of his career as Senior Civil Designer. He and his wife Barbara worked hard designing/building homes together in their younger years. They founded and operated Industrial Design Drafting that employed contracting staff designers for both Exxon and Dow Chemical for 25+ years. Many of his family members followed him in the industrial design field. Louis loved his 5 children, 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He raised his five children with love and devotion in the Catholic Church and instilled in them a high degree of morals. He spent time with his children hunting and fishing. Louis is survived by his children Paul Brent LeBlanc and his wife Bridget, Cynthia LeBlanc Summers and husband Scott, James Randall LeBlanc and his wife Gaelyn, Gregg LeBlanc and his wife Brandi, Michael LeBlanc and his wife Kathleen. Louis leaves behind eight grandchildren Damon LeBlanc and his wife Jamie, Brittany LeBlanc Buhler and her husband Rhett, Jesse Summers, Corey LeBlanc, Jordan LeBlanc, Bailey Leblanc, Caden LeBlanc and Shelby LeBlanc and two great-grandchildren, Brenden LeBlanc and Cason Buhler. Louis is also survived by his mother, Erna Thibodeaux, Barbara Fabre, Jay Thibodeaux, Gary Thibodeaux and his wife Pam and Ronnie Thibodeaux and his wife Wendy. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Sunday, August 16, 2015 from 3pm-7pm. The rosary will begin at 5pm led by the Knights of Columbus. Visitation will resume on Monday August 17, 2015 at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church at 9:30am until Mass of Christian Burial officiated by Father Mike Moroney at 11am.
