

Lucille Vinson Montgomery, known as "Lou", age 84, passed away quietly on Monday, Sept. 1, 2014, with her family. She was a native Avon, South Dakota, and a longtime resident of Central. Lou was one of eleven children. She was a Military Veteran in the United States Air Force where she met the love of her life, Air Force pilot Thomas H. Montgomery Jr. of Central. They were married for sixty-one years. As a Military family they traveled the world with their three children. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother with a loving and kind gentle spirit. As a banker with the Bank of Zachary, Central Branch she enjoyed so many people of Central. After retirement they traveled and met many wonderful friends. Her love for quilting and needlework was shared with many and she enjoyed all her beautiful flowers. She is survived by her loving husband Thomas H. Montgomery Jr. of sixty-one years of Central, two daughters; Nancy Lou Boyd of Tucson Arizona, Lynn M. Nicholson of Central, 1 granddaughter Lauren N. White and her husband Paul P. White of Metairie and one great grandson Rhodes Thomas White and two grandsons, Jonathan Boyd and Ian N. Boyd of Tucson, Arizona, 2 sisters Mary Petrick of Lebanon Oregon and Alice Betz and husband Verlyn also of Lebanon Oregon and 1 brother Herbert Vinson and wife Doretta of Minnesota. She has many special nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents Dewey Herbert Vinson and Cora Alvina French, her son Thomas H. Montgomery III, six sisters; Della Vinson, Nancy Jenkins, Margaret Haas, Vivian Koehn, Wilma Terpening, Violet Grimme, and 1 infant Baby Brother. Visitation will be at Greenoaks Memorial Park and Funeral Home in Baton Rouge on Friday September 5th 2014 from 12 pm to 2pm with Services starting at 2pm and burial following the service.
