

Perry, Lynda Eve DavisLynda Eve Davis Perry died at Highland Court of St. James Place on September 18th following a lengthy illness. She was born in Oklahoma City on April 28th, 1933, to Homer and Eva Davis. She was 82. Her family moved to Shreveport and then to Carthage, Texas, where she completed high school. Following her father's death, she returned to Shreveport, attended LSU (B.R.) and graduated from Centenary College in 1953 in education. She was a member of Chi Omega sorority. Predeceased siblings are Marilee Harter of Shreveport, U.S. Air Force MSG Rexford A. Davis of Shreveport and Richard A. Davis of Paul's Valley, Oklahoma. She is predeceased by a daughter, Eve Perry Watson of Baton Rouge. She is survived by her husband, Thomas O. Perry, Jr., son Thomas O. Perry, III, grandson Dylan Watson and son-in-law Nick Watson. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She was married in 1954 in Shreveport and in 1970 the family moved to Baton Rouge. A broad array of community activities included the Junior League, founding member of the LSU Book Bazaar, President of the LSU Hilltop Arboretum, member of Ikebana Flower Society, the Baton Rouge Bridge Club, and above all, a prodigious reader. She was a social worker, school teacher in special education, real estate agent, cooking instructor and consultant. Her favorite toast was "Happy Days"! She was a member and elder of University Presbyterian Church. A memorial service will be held at University Presbyterian Church on Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at 10:30 AM the Reverend Patti Snyder presiding. Visitation is at 9:30. Interment will be at the family plot at the Forest Park Cemetery in Shreveport on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at 10:00 AM. The Reverend Ken Irby presiding.
