
A wonderful wife, mother and grandmother and a beautiful person, she died Saturday, Dec. 2, 2006, after a courageous battle with cancer. Marge was a native of Chicagoand a resident of Baton Rougefor 27 years. She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Thomas M. Gilmore Jr.; daughter, Wendy A. Gilmore; sons, Douglas J. Gilmore and Thomas M. Gilmore III; daughter-in-law, Caroline L. Gilmore; grandchildren, Lily and Thomas IV; and sister, Chris Loeb of Henderson, Nev. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Kathleen Idstein, who were of Chicago. In celebration of her life, visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, was on Tuesday, Dec. 5, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., with recitation of the rosary at 7 p.m. Visiting at St. Jean Vianney Catholic Church on Wednesday from 9 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m., with the Rev. Thomas Ranzino, celebrant. A cryptside service will be at Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum, New Orleans, at 1 p.m.Wednesday. She enjoyed having dinner with her family every Sunday, traveling and quilting. She especially enjoyed the time she spent with her friends in the Patchwork Pelicans Quilting Guild. The family wishes to extend sincere appreciation to Dr. Michael Castine, Dr. Andrew Lauve and their staffs, Mrs. Betty Spears, and the St. Joseph Hospice staff for their wonderful, devoted loving care.
