Maria Isabelle Martinez Alaniz, native of Brownsville, TX and resident of Baton Rouge, LA, passed away on Sunday, February 28, 2016. Loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, Maria's passion was her family and gardening. She is survived by her daughters, Sylvia Ann Alaniz and Cecilia Alaniz Sonnier and Daniel ; sons, Peter Marcus Alaniz and Tina, David Andrew Alaniz and Shelia and Michael Oscar Alaniz; grandchildren, Russell Thrower, Stevi Sonnier Stein, Andrew Alaniz, James Alaniz, Adrienne Alaniz Fincher, Candice Hudson, Katelyn Alaniz, Bryce Alaniz, and Daylin Alaniz; 7 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Pete Alaniz and parents, Miguel Trevino Martinez and Hilaria Martinez, Brothers: Miguel Sebastian Martinez, Reynaldo Martinez; Sisters: Otilia M Holland, Alicia M Trevino, Aurora M Olvera, Gloria M Morales, Lydia Martinez, Delfa M Sanchez. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd. Baton Rouge, LA. 70815 on Wednesday, March 2, 2016 from 4PM-8PM. Visitation will resume at St.Thomas More Catholic Church, 11441 Goodwood Blvd. Baton Rouge, LA 70815, Thursday, March 3, 2016 at 10AM until Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 12pm.
