Annette is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Benoit Sr. and Marie Louise Braud Genre; and brother-in-law, Ira Craft. Annette was a dedicated homemaker and caregiver, looking after both the elderly and children.
She had a passion for sewing, particularly charming little girls' dresses adorned with ruffles and lace, as well as curtains for her home. Annette was also a talented cook, well-known among her family for her delicious fried chicken. Her dessert-making skills were exceptional, and she had a knack for beautifully decorating cakes. In addition to her culinary talents, Annette had a special gift for gardening, resulting in the most stunning roses and daylilies. She had a deep affection for animals, notably her first dog, Goldie, and her last dog, Missy. Annette also kept birds as pets and once nursed a wounded blue jay back to health before releasing it into the wild. In her spare time, Annette enjoyed watching movies and assembling puzzles. Her fun-loving and lively spirit was recognized and cherished by everyone at Avanti Senior Living Center, where her love of music and dancing brought joy to those around her. Annette’s family, affectionately known as Marie to Avanti Senior Living and Passages Hospice, would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff, care partners, and nurses at Avanti Senior Living, as well as the care partners and nurses at Passages Hospice, for the compassionate care they provided to Marie these past four years.
