Marilyn Hannie Eckert

Marilyn Hannie Eckert, 87, passed away on March 28, 2023 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She was born on October 31, 1935 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She was preceded in death by her parents, Brother James J. Hannie M.D.; two sisters, Jo Alene Hannie Cotton and Sonja Hannie Reeder. She is survived by her sister, Lynda Hannie Favret of Metairie; sons, Joseph J. Bailey, Esq. of Baton Rouge and David J. Bailey, M.D. of The Woodlands, Texas; and grandchildren, Jennifer Rae Bailey of Baton Rouge, Michael Patrick Bailey, DDS of Austin, Texas, and Scott Andrew Bailey of Houston, Texas. Marilyn married John H. Bailey, Jr. of Baton Rouge in 1955. She was a school teacher and librarian in the East Baton Rouge school system for 20 years. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Tuesday, April 4, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at Rabenhorst Funeral Home Downtown, 825 Government St., Baton Rouge, LA 70802. Visitation resumes the following morning, Wednesday, April 5, 2023 from 9:00 a.m. until the Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, 445 Marquette Ave., Baton Rouge, Louisiana 70806.
