Marilyn Fresina McDonald, 72, passed away Saturday, March 13th, 2021 at Ochsner Medical Center after a lengthy illness. She was born in Baton Rouge May 19th, 1948, and was a lifelong resident of the city. She attended grade school at Sacred Heart School, graduated from St Anthony High School and enjoyed the continued camaraderie of classmates from both. She was retired from the Louisiana State Department of Education. Marilyn is survived by brothers, Paul Fresina, Jr. (Patty) and Frank Fresina; and sister, DiAnne Fresina Ponsano (Paul). She also leaves behind nieces and nephews, Dawn Babin (Brian), Anthony Bonfanti, Curtis Fresina (Lauren), Blake Fresina, Brandon Fresina (Kimmie), Jonathan Fresina (Fiancée Ashlyn), and great nephew, Brendan Bonfanti. She was preceded in death by husband, George McDonald; parents, Paul, Sr. and Virginia Fresina; sister, Jeannette Fresina Cutrer; and sister-in-law, Julie Fresina. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 16, from 8 am until service at 10 at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East (11000 Florida Blvd). Burial will follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park.
