Martha Olivia Reid

Martha (Marty) O. Reid passed away on August 16, 2024, at the home of her son and daughter-in-law in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, at the age of 86. She was happily married to Bill Reid for 59 years prior to his death in 2022. She was an active member of St. Jean Vianney Catholic Church since its inception. She was also a member of “Threads of Love” sewing club and the Lions Club. She enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking, camping and gardening.

Marty is survived in death by her daughter Ingrid Reid Ali, her husband Abdelhakeem (Adam) Ali, their three children: Sami; Hana, her husband John, their two children John Gregory and Olivia Reid; Omar, his wife Lauren and son William Aurther. Her son Chris Reid, his wife Missy, their two children Jessica and Brandon. Marty's brothers and sisters Clara, Luis, Elena, Estella, Jorge, Terresa and numerous nieces and nephews.

Marty was proceeded in death by her husband William (Bill) Reid, father Luis Parada, mother Maria Teresa de Parada.

Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA. Wednesday, August 21, 2024, from 10:00 am until service time of 12:00 pm. Interment will immediately follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park.

Pallbearers: Hana Lucas, Omar Ali, Sami Ali, Adam Ali, Brandon Reid, and John Lucas.

In lieu of flowers we would like to have donations made in memory of Marty Reid to The Chromosome 9p Minus Network in her granddaughter’s name Jessica Reid.
