She was born in Louisville, KY on December 6, 1933. She was the sister of William Larkin, Frances Obrecht, and Paul “Mickey” Larkin (dec.). She was a resident of Baton Rouge since 1959 after meeting her future husband Bill in Panama City, FL. Libby embraced southern culture and cooking immediately and always had something on the stove to feed her loving family. She enjoyed dancing a cajun 2-step with Bill as they traversed the state for Police Jury functions. She enjoyed and encouraged music throughout her house, playing the piano and singing for friends and passed this joy to her sons who all embraced the gift of music.
She was an active member of the Louisiana chapter of the Republican Women, the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre, various garden clubs, the Serra club, and St Agnes Catholic Church where she sang in the choir.
Her outgoing personality and ability to speak her mind were embraced by all that called her a friend.
The family would like to thank her outstanding caregivers that comforted her in her final journey: Altheia, Carol, and Geri.
Services: Rabenhorst Funeral home on Government St, Saturday, July 8. Visitation 10-12pm, followed by Funeral Service.
