Mary Gallaher Frey Eaton

Eaton, Mary Gallaher FreyMary was born in Franklinton, LA on September 22, 1924, to Willie May Jones and Major Fred C. Frey,  Sr.  She died at home on Tuesday, May 24, 2016, at the age of 91. Mary is survived by her son,  Gregory  McCarroll  Eaton (Anne),  daughters,  Mary Frey Eaton Stewart (Dexter),  Susan Martin Eaton, and Barbara Anne Eaton;  three grandchildren,  Margaret Kimble Eaton,  Elizabeth Bartlett Eaton and Lewis Edmond "Lee" Eaton;  a great-grandchild,  Grace Anne Eaton-Steger;  sister in law,  Martha Stone Frey; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.  She was predeceased by her husband, Lewis Wilmot "Puna" Eaton, Jr.;  son,  Lewis Wilmot Eaton, III;  parents;  sisters,  Jean Frey Fritchie,  Joan Frey Gallaher;  and her little brother,  Fred C.  Frey,  Jr. Visitation will be at Rabenhorst  Funeral Home, 825 Government Street,  Thursday, May 26, 2016, from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm. Visitation continues at First United Methodist Church, 930 North Boulevard, Friday, May 27, 2016 from 10:00 am until religious services at  Noon.  Interment will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park. Mary graduated from Nicholson Elementary, Baton Rouge High School and Louisiana State University. Mary dedicated her life to the belief that we all have a responsibility of service to our community and that every child should have the opportunity to become the finest they are capable of being. Special thanks to here caregiver,  Carrie Vicedo.  Pallbearers are Lee Eaton, Dexter Stewart,  Fred  C.  Frey, III, Mark Fritchie, Todd  Fritchie and Craig Rhodes.
