

A resident of Baton Rouge and native of Utica, MS, Mary Frances died at home on Thursday, July 23, 2015, at the age of 87. Visitation at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Friday, July 24, from 5 pm until 9 pm and resumes on Saturday, July 25, from 10 am until religious serves in the funeral home chapel at noon conducted by Rev. Mike Ferguson and Rev Don Hoy. Graveside services will be at 3 pm Saturday at the Utica City Cemetery in Utica, MS. She is survived by a daughter, Brenda Kinchen and husband Joe; three sons, Jimmy Holmes, Larry Holmes and wife Gail, and Greg Holmes and wife Melanie; daughter-in-law, Terry Holmes; brother, Don Stubbs; twenty grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren. Mary Frances was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, John W. "Bill" Holmes, Sr.; son, Johnny Holmes; parents, Henry and Agnes McBride Stubbs; sisters, Rebecca Snapp, Pearl Ellis, Catherine Reed and Alice Gilbert; and brothers, Jerry Stubbs, Henry "Junior" Stubbs, William "Bud" Stubbs and Glen "Brother" Stubbs. Mary Frances was a member of Lanier Baptist Church and former member of Glen Oaks Baptist Church and Brookstown Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Lanier Baptist Church.
