Mary Jane Smith

Mary Jane Smith, born March 18, 1927, passed away peacefully on March 21, 2016, after spending her adult life in Baton Rouge.  Mary Jane was always so full of life and laughter.  She loved her many adventures abroad with dear friends, was an avid bridge player, and a longtime L.S.U. football enthusiast.  Her greatest joys in life came from time spent with her children, grandchildren and extended family.  She was preceded in death by her dear husband, William "Billy" Robert Smith; her son, William Robert "Rob" Smith, Jr.; her sister, Patsy Bacot and son-in-law, Dirk Andries van Reenen.  She is survived by her daughters, Jane Smith van Reenen and companion, Sonny Dellinger; and Denise Smith Loveless-Forrest and husband, Martin Forrest. Her grandchildren Andrea Powell and husband, Kevin; Erika Shaughnessy and husband, Dan; Dustin Loveless and wife, Kathryn; Jamie Loveless and companion, Daron Skurich; Bradley Loveless and wife, Lauren; and Sean Smith, son of the late Rob Smith.  A very special thank you to her many wonderful caregivers, especially Chandrel Lollis.  A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 24th at the First Presbyterian Church, Dunham Chapel at 11 AM, with visitation beginning at 10 AM.  Funeral arrangement provided by Rabenhorst Funeral Home.  In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to First Presbyterian Church, 763 North Boulevard, Baton Rouge, LA 70802.
