"It is with great sadness that the family of Matthew Paul Bourgeois advises of his untimely death. Matt passed away peacefully on Friday, September 27, 2019 at age 49 as a result of a chronic heart condition. He was a graduate of Redemptorist High School in Baton Rouge and ITI Technical Institute. He was proud to have served in the Army National Guard. Matt loved hunting, fishing and spending time on the family property in Morganza, Louisiana. Mr. Bourgeois is survived by his daughter, Britni Bourgeois, his mother, Jaculyn Giroir Bourgeois, a sister, Renee Bourgeois Busch and her husband, Bradley. He was preceded in death by his father, Roy Matthew Bourgeois, Jr., his maternal grandparents, Alfred Paul and Audrey Giroir, and his paternal grandparents, Roy Matthew, Sr. and Ernestine Bourgeois. A memorial service will be conducted at a later date.
