

Mearl Edwin Harville, beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend passed away at his home on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at the age of 89. He was a longtime resident of Central, LA. He was a graduate of Istrouma High School, Class of 1955. After serving in the United States Army for four years, Mearl continued his education at LSU and subsequently taught at several high schools in the Baton Rouge area for 30 years. He was a talented woodworker and furniture maker and upon retirement enjoyed serving as a docent at the LSU Rural Life Museum. Mearl was a Godly man, was a Charter member of Fellowship Baptist Church of Central and served there in various capacities. Above all, he cherished time spent with his family and was affectionately known as "Honey." He is survived by his devoted wife of 68 years, Eddis; children, Randall (Lynn), Cindie (Allan), and Michael; grandchildren, Mandy (David), Taylor, and Nolan; and great-grandchildren, Allie, Ashton, Bryce and Sadie. He is preceded in death by his parents, Mearl and Lexie; brother, David; and sister, Mearline Benedetto. Burial was held at Greenoaks Memorial Park on Monday, June 9, 2025. The family is sincerely thankful for Baton Rouge Hospice, especially caregivers Jaimie and Cierra. They were such a blessing.
