He was a claims adjuster with Louisiana Dealer Services. Michael was a native of York, Maine, and a resident of Baton Rouge. He died at 5:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2010, at Ochsner Medical Center of Baton Rouge at age 47. He was an avid motorcyclist and a member of MAC motorcycle awareness campaign. Michael was a 1981 graduate of Broadmoor High School. Visitation will be held at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., Friday, Nov. 12, from 5 p.m. until the memorial service at 7 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, conducted by the Rev. Lewis Morris Jr. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Troy Chaney Hayes; parents, John A. Hayes Jr. and Karen Bridges Hayes; maternal grandmother, Mary Bridges; sister, Stephanie Gervais; brother, Chris Hayes; father-in-law and mother-in-law: Jim and Susan Boothe Johnson; nieces and nephews, Jillian and Trey Cox and Tyler and Peyton Hayes; his pets, Rowdy, Abby, Max, Sam, Penny and Tabitha; numerous uncles, aunts and cousins. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
