Michael "Buddy" Montagnino

A native of Baton Rouge and resident of Zachary, passed away early Monday morning, August 19, 2013, at the Baton Rouge General Hospital, at the age of 73. Buddy was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He retired from the state after serving with the LSU Police Department. Visitation will be held at St. Agnes Catholic Church 749 East Boulevard Baton Rouge, LA 70802 on Tuesday, August 20, 2013, from 9 AM until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM conducted by Father Clifton Hill. Interment will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park 9595 Florida Blvd Baton Rouge, LA 70815. Buddy is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Virginia Landry Montagnino; his three sons, Michael Alan and wife, Donna Montagnino, Ronnie Montagnino, and David and wife, Sherri Montagnino; grandchildren, Vincent Joseph and wife Ashlyn Montagnino, Alaina Montagnino, Gabrielle Montagnino; and great granddaughter to be, Natalie Rae Montagnino; three sisters, Rose Planchard, Joann and husband, D.J. Webre, Angie and husband, Harry Halleck, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Angelo and Rosalie Montagnino; brother, Jerry Montagnino; sisters, Lena Riley, Carole Hester, and Pam Montagnino. Pallbearers will be Phillip Bruder, Vincent Montagnino, Bruce Pilley, Mike Planchard, and Danny Webre. Honorary pallbearers will be Troy and John Viccellio. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be made to St. Agnes Catholic Church.
