A resident of Baton Rouge and a native of Indian Bayou, she died Friday, Nov. 14, 2008, at age 89. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Monday, Nov. 17, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Graveside service at Maxie Cemetery, Maxie, on Tuesday, Nov. 18, at 1 p.m. Survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Johnnie and Thomas Regan Jr., and Rosa Marie and Lynn Wascom; two grandsons, Clifton and Christopher Wascom; and twin sister, Naomi "Jac" Robison. Preceded in death by her husband, John Philip Bacon Jr.; parents, Rosa and Clarence Welch; and brothers, Roland C., Carroll and Clifton "Bunk" Welch. She was an active member in the women's activities of the United Methodist Church and a member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church.
