

Necia Elizabeth Wintz Waggenspack “Nena”, homemaker and hostess extraordinaire, resident of Baton Rouge, LA, passed away at Ollie Steele on Wednesday, May 27, 2015. She was born October 1, 1923 in Carville, LA. She graduated from St. Gabriel School and then attended Baton Rouge Business College. She lived a life of service to family, church and country. She joined the Navy during WWII and served two years in Washington D.C. as a cryptographer. Necia married Warren N. Waggenspack “Mano” on November 11, 1946 and moved to Hollydale where they raised seven children next door to their second family Bill and Myra Wintz and children. She was a founding member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church and School where she volunteered her time and talents. She was also active in W.A.V.E.S., Lioness Club, Good Fellows Good Samaritans, St. George Bulletin Group and Baton Rouge Women’s Tennis Association, just to name a few.
She is survived by her sister, Virginia Contine, and her brother, Adrian Wintz, and two sisters-in-law, Marie Waggenspack and Ollie Mae Waggenspack. Her children and their spouses are Elaine and Elmo Dean, Wame and Brenda Waggenspack, Phil and Karen Waggenspack, Roy and Day Waggenspack, Sue and Wayne Dugas, Warren, Jr. and Joni Waggenspack, and Julia and Kirk Casemore. Her grandchildren are Kevin and Teresa Dean, Craig Dean, Necia and John D. Cassidy, Wame, Jr. and Rachel Waggenspack, Jeremy and Kelly Waggenspack, Elizabeth and Troy Murphey, Chad Waggenspack, Brian and Heather Waggenspack, Janelle Waggenspack, Drake and Christina Waggenspack, Jason and Sarah Waggenspack, Emmett and Kelsey Waggenspack, Dana and Justin Tarver, Lauren and Rod Donald, David Dugas, Trey Waggenspack, Tyler Waggenspack, Grant Waggenspack, Clint and Sarah Casemore, Nicholas Casemore, and Elyse and Matt Lockwood. Great Grandchildren are Marcus Evangelista, Lucas and Ethan Dean, Owen and Brayden Cassidy, Ava and Nathan Waggenspack, Emma, Kate and Sophie Waggenspack, Alex and Benjamin Murphey, Sloane Waggenspack, Harrison and Griffin Tarver, Jack Donald and Cullen Lockwood.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Warren N. Waggenspack “Mano”, her parents William Aloysius and Vivian Landry Wintz, her siblings and spouses “Bill” and Myra Wintz, Vivian and Byron Walker, Landry and Aliff Wintz, Sarah and Les Howatt, “Bubba” Contine, Isabel Wintz, Bobby and Berdie Lou Wintz. Her in-laws Wilda Waggenspack, Melvin and Violet Waggenspack, Patricia and Kye Waguespack, Warren and Rosemary Many, Irwin and Audrey Waggenspack, Vincent and Jenny Waggenspack, Harold Waggenspack, and Linden Waggenspack.
Visitation at St. Aloysius Catholic Church on Saturday, May 30, 2015 from 8:00am-10:15am. Remembrances 10:15am. Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30am followed by burial at Greenoaks Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be her grandsons and gift bearers will be granddaughters.
