
""¦Oh, that I had wings like a dove! I would fly away and be at rest." Psalm 55:6. She was born in White Castle, LA on March 27, 1921 and died on April 9, 2012, at the age of 91. A homemaker and artist, she was a resident of Denham Springs, LA and a former resident of Baton Rouge. She was a member of the Denham Springs Art Association and St. Martha's Senior Art Colony. She regularly exhibited her paintings and won numerous awards for them. She left her family a priceless treasure with every painting she created because it was a reflection of her inner beauty, sweet spirit, strength, and creativity. She is survived by two sons: Frankie Joseph LaPorte and Clyde John LaPorte and wife Carrie. Two daughters: Margaret LaPorte Elgin and husband William Elgin, Sr. and Janet LaPorte Willett and husband Marvin (Coach) Willett. Six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, Maurice W. Franklin, her first husband, Frank Joseph LaPorte;. mother, Anna Gertrude LeBlanc LeBlanc and father, John Andrew LeBlanc, Sr.; Two sisters, Gloria Ann LeBlanc Patin and Ella Mae LeBlanc; one brother, John Andrew LeBlanc, Jr. Visitation will be at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, Florida Blvd. East on Wednesday, April 11 from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday, April 12 at 10:00 a.m. with a Mass of Christian burial at 11:00 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church on Hatchell Lane in Denham Springs. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park on North St. in Baton Rouge.
