

He was 93 and a resident of the Southeast Louisiana War Veterans Home in Reserve and a resident of Baton Rouge. He was a retired automotive salesman. He was born Aug. 2, 1918, and passed away Sunday, Dec. 25, 2011. He was a graduate of Istrouma High School and attended LSU. He served his country proudly for 4½ years in the Army Medical Corps overseas and was an ex-P.O.W. He was a Member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus (3rd Degree) Council 2807 and American Legion Post 38. Visitation at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Tuesday, Dec. 27, from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Visitation will resume at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church on Wednesday, Dec. 28, from 10:30 am until Mass of Christian Burial at noon. Interment will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Josie "Jo" Spedale; two sons, Gerard Daniel "Speedy" Spedale and wife Martha and Mark Spedale and wife Linda; sister, Sara Cascio; grandson, Hunter Spedale; and granddaughters, Danielle Spedale, Melanie Boudreaux and Lindsey Williamson and husband Thom; and two great-grandchildren, Brittany and Brennan Boudreaux. Nick loved the outdoors and was an avid LSU Tiger Fan.
