

"Barnett, Noelie Jeanne Louise Daussin, "YaYa" died peacefully January 7, 2017. She was 94 years old. She was a graduate of St. Louis Cathedral School, class of 1935, a graduate of Ursuline Academy, class of 1939. She attended Ursuline Business School and graduated from St. Joseph Business School. She was employed first at Hotel Dieu as a medical transcriptionist, then at the US Naval Air Station during WWII where she met her husband, Randolph Barnett, USN. She resided for some time in Slidell having worked with her husband to found Forest Lawn Cemetery. Following her husband's death she moved to Baton Rouge and was employed for 24 years as supervisor of medical transcription at the Baton Rouge Clinic. She loved traveling around the country to see her children and grandchildren, gardening and the arts. In addition to her husband she is preceded in death by her parents Gerard and Jeanne (Bertin) Daussin and her brother, Gerard J. and his wife, Helen Daussin. She is survived by her four children: Jean Gatz (Les) Baton Rouge, Patty Mickle, Baton Rouge, Randy Barnett(Addie) Loveland Colorado, and Kathy Barnett, New Orleans; 8 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 11, at Our Lady of Mercy Church, Baton Rouge, at 9:30 am with church services at 10:30 am. Burial following at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Slidell.
