Norris Joseph Decoteau passed away Friday, April 1st, 2022. He was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather. He was a devoted lifetime member of the Catholic Church, a graduate of Louisiana State University in Civil Engineering, a retired civil engineer, and land surveyor. He is survived by his four children: Bradley Decoteau and wife Cheryl, Jeffrey Decoteau and wife Michele, Michael Decoteau, Ashley Decoteau Van Beek and husband Gerald. Eleven grandchildren: Kendall Decoteau Vosburg, Madeline Decoteau Berteau, William Decoteau, Sarah Decoteau, Emilie Decoteau, Meredith Decoteau Cazaubon, Natalie Van Beek, Kate Van Beek, Cameron Decoteau, Evan Van Beek, and Hailey Van Beek; four great-grandchildren: Olivia Vosburg, Henry Vosburg, Quinn Vosburg, Liam Decoteau, Wyatt Decoteau, and Margaret Cazaubon; brothers: Ronnie, Glenn, and Richard Decoteau and two sisters: Yvonne Templet and Sharon Bedgood. He is preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Judith Lowe Decoteau and his parents, Herman Joseph Decoteau and Doris Gautreau Decoteau. Grandsons: William Decoteau, Cameron Decoteau, Evan Van Beek, Brock Vosburg, Brandon Cazaubon, and Henry Vosburg will serve as pallbearers. The family is thankful to all who offered their support during his battle with cancer.
Visitation will be at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, Monday, April 4th from 5:00 pm till 8:00 pm. Visitation will resume Tuesday, April 5th at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church beginning at 9:00 am with Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am followed by burial at Greenoaks Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking donations to be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
