Ory A. Durand

Ory A. Durand Sr., 92, passed away peacefully on October 15, 2010 in Kingwood, Texas. Ory was born on December 1, 1917 in Plaquemime, LA to Jules and Mary Durand. Ory retired from Exxon after 41 years of service.

Ory is preceded in death by his wife Anna Fletcher Durand; brothers, Cletus and Jules; sisters, Germaine Noel and Ethlyn LeBlanc. He is survived by his daughter, Charlotte Durand LeBlanc and husband, Ray; son, Ory A. Durand, Jr. and wife, Marguerite; grandchildren Paul LeBlanc, Mary Parker, David LeBlanc, Michelle Brookover, Ory A. Durand III, Jeffry Durand and Stephanie O’Donnell; great grandchildren, Grace, Thomas, Andrew, Nick, Kyle, Greg, Rachel, Eli, Bethany, Anthony, Suzanne, Ethan and Eleanor; sister, Caroline Comeaux and brother, Douglas Durand.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 20, 2010 at 10:00 AM in the chapel of Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd. Baton Rouge, Louisiana 70815, with interment to follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made in Ory’s memory to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 15186 Austin, TX 78761. The family would like send a special thank you to the Staff of the Terrace in Kingwood, TX.
