Oscar Wyatt Jordan of Walker, Louisiana, passed away on Saturday, September 20, 2025. He was 54 years old and left behind a legacy of love, laughter, and devotion to his family. Born on January 8, 1971, in Hammond, Louisiana, Oscar lived a life defined by hard work, deep loyalty, and a loving heart.
Oscar had an unmatched drive for hard work and never hesitated to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. His sharp wit, silly stories, and tall tales of the latest conspiracy theories he discovered on “the Tik Tak” kept those around him laughing. He truly had a gift for playful banter. No one could match him in a war of words, and he loved to tease and poke fun in ways that made people feel seen, cherished, and loved. He was hard-headed and stubborn at times, but those who knew him best understood it was because he loved with his whole heart—often to his own detriment.
Oscar is survived by his beloved son, Preston Jordan (Jessie Jordan), and was a proud grandpa to Amelie, Sophie, and Luke. He is also survived by his mother, Rose Jordan; brothers, Bobby and Johnny Jordan; aunt, Josie Criscoe; niece, Alyx Boothe; and cousins, Cecily Criscoe, Kelley Stein, and Phyllis Rock. He also leaves behind many friends who cared deeply for him.
More than anything, Oscar cherished being a dad and grandfather. He never missed an opportunity to brag about his fireman son, who was his pride and joy. Becoming a grandfather only deepened his sense of purpose. He adored Amelie, Sophie, and Luke, and they loved him right back. Also, a natural caretaker, Oscar spent the last several years lovingly tending to “his girls,” Rose and Josie, making sure they had everything they needed and waiting on them hand and foot. His consistent care for them eased the worries of his entire family. Nothing mattered more to Oscar than his family, and his absence leaves a tremendous void in the lives of those who loved him.
Visitation will be at Greenoaks Memorial Park and Funeral Home, located at 9595 Florida Boulevard in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, on Thursday, September 25, 2025, from 9 a.m. until the time of funeral services at 11 a.m. A brief graveside service and burial will take place at Rose Memorial Park, located at 908 Western Avenue in Hammond, Louisiana, at 2 p.m. the same day. Bobby Jordan, Johnny Jordan, BJ Jordan, Wesley Stein, Dylan McGrew, and Aaron Tucker will serve as pallbearers.
Oscar Wyatt Jordan will be remembered as a devoted dad, doting grandpa, loyal son, sarcastic brother, crazy cousin, and true friend. He will be missed beyond measure.
