
A retired National Hansen's Disease Center employee and a native of Baton Rouge, she died Friday, April 10, 2009, at her home in Baton Rouge. She was 78. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government St., on Monday, April 13, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visiting continues at St. George Catholic Church on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Entombment in the church cemetery mausoleum. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Abel Daigle; two sons, the Rev. Gregory J. Daigle, of Lakeland, and Michael P. Daigle and wife Michelle Valiquette Daigle, of Franklin, Tenn.; three sisters, Josephine Russo Mahnken, Maryanne Russo Amorello and Margaret Russo Fletcher, all of Baton Rouge; two grandchildren, Savannah Michelle and Harrison Michael Daigle, both of Franklin; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Gerolama "Mamie" Territo Russo. She was a Eucharistic minister and a member of Court St. George, Catholic Daughters of America, the St. Gabriel and St. George Altar Societies, the Carville Hospital Retirees Association, the American Italian Association and the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary. Special thanks to her many doctors, health care givers, Hospice of Baton Rouge, home care givers, Vicky and Ivy and the many friends who visited and provided meals throughout her illness.
