Patricia Stirrat Jarreau

Funeral services for Patricia Stirrat Jarreau, 79, of Baton Rouge, Louisiana will be held on Friday, January 31, 2025, at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, located at 11000 Florida Blvd. Baton Rouge, Louisiana 70815. Visitation is from 2:00 PM-4:00 PM with a service at 4:00 PM officiated by Mamie Broadhurts.

Surrounded by her family, Patricia "Patti" Stirrat Jarreau began her eternal life on January 24, 2025. Patti dedicated 30 years of service to the Louisiana Senate and was a member of University Presbyterian Church.

On June 13, 1964, Patti married Cecil Jarreau in a double wedding ceremony alongside her brother, Mike Stirrat, and his bride. This event was the social highlight of the season and a treasured memory for Patti and her family.

After retiring, Patti embraced quilting as her new passion. She loved quilting with friends, traveling to quilting shows, and creating beautiful works of art that reflected her creative spirit and deep love for her family. Her cherished quilts are a lasting legacy for those she loved. As Patti often said, "Quilts are like friends, a great source of comfort."

Gulf Shores, Alabama, was Patti’s happy place. For over 20 years, she hosted the annual Jarreau family reunion there, bringing together three generations of family and many friends to celebrate birthdays, engagements, weddings, and anniversaries.

Patti was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 54 years, Cecil J. Jarreau; her brother, Mike Stirrat; grandson, Taylor Paul Pastorek; granddaughter, Holly Jarreau; nephew, Brad Prescott; and nieces, Johnette Tollett and Peggy Young.

She is survived by her children: Chris Jarreau (Beth), Ricky Jarreau (Anissa), and Bonney Wallis (Henry); her sisters: Kathy Stirrat Tollett and Laura Stirrat Prescott (Jim); her grandchildren: Troy Jarreau (Maddie), Scott Jarreau (Katie), Chandler Pastorek, and Emma Grace Jones; and her great-grandson, Aiden Jarreau. Patti is also survived by her nephews: Michael Stirrat (Stephanie), Roland Tollett (Kristi), and Tyler Prescott (Katie); her niece, Shelley Prescott Roy (Brian); as well as a host of extended family and friends who will miss her dearly.
