Patricia Cropper Sonnier

A loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, Patricia passed away Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2010, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. She was 71, a resident of Central since 1971 and native of Opelousas.. Visitation at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., Sunday, Dec. 26, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visiting at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church on Monday, Dec. 27, from 9 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m., with the Rev. Michael Moroney, celebrant. Interment in Greenoaks Memorial Park. Patricia is survived by her husband of 52 years, Bernard L. Sonnier; two daughters, Belinda Sonnier, of Shreveport, and Monica Sonnier, of Memphis, Tenn.; two sisters, Joanne Mitchell and Lillie Belle Higginbotham, both of Lake Charles; five grandchildren, Rafael O'Halloran, of Palo Alto, Calif., Daniel O'Halloran, of San Diego, Ben Jelley, of Covington, Nick Jelley, of Nashville, Tenn., and Michael Jelley, of Houston; and two great-grandchildren, Gabriel and Caleb Jelley. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Curley and Lillian Cropper; and brother, Peter Cropper. Patricia was a graduate of Opelousas High School, a longtime member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church and loved to travel and play pokeno.
