

Paul Arthur Simcoe, Jr. , 81, passed away Thursday, June 24, 2010 at The Carpenter House. He was retired from the U. S. Navy Seabees after 20 years of service in 1967. Graduated from L. S. U. in 1971 with a Bachelor of Science Degree and in 1978 he received his Master of Education Degree. He was a varsity letterman in the LSU Athletic Department serving as football manager from 1967 – 1971. He was a teacher and coach at Lee High School and Belaire High School and retired in 1991 in Administration at Belaire.
Survivors include his loving wife of 60 years, Barbara Lou Hahn Simcoe; a son, Donald Lee Simcoe and wife Marie of Walker, LA; Son-in-law, Steve Hamilton of Carmel, Indiana; three grandsons, Heath Simcoe and wife, Joy and Jason Simcoe and wife, Emily, all of Denham Springs, LA, and Christopher Hamilton of Denver, CO; a granddaughter, Elizabeth Curtis and husband, Steven of Noblesville, IN; three great granddaughters, Mackenzie, Madison, and Macie Simcoe; a great grandson, Parker Graves Simcoe; a brother, Jerry Simcoe of Floresville, TX; two half brothers, Clarence Weber of LaPine, OR and Raymond Weber of Moberly, MO; also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents, Paul A. Simcoe, Sr. and Velma Frazier Simcoe Weber; his daughter, Wanda Kay Hamilton; a sister, Doris Schuele; and two brothers, Robert and Richard Simcoe.
The visitation will be at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Sunday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and resume on Monday from 9 a.m. until time of services at 10 a.m. at Carpenter’s Chapel United Methodist Church, Prairieville, LA. Burial will be in Greenoaks Memorial Park.
Paul was a Life member and Past National Commander of the Seabee Veterans of America, a member of the Fleet Reserve Association, United States Navy memorial, the CEC/Seabee Historical Foundation and the American Legion. He was a long time member and choir director for 20 years of Carpenter’s Chapel United Methodist Church of Prairieville, LA.
