

"Pauline Ann Corbett passed away in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on August 9, 2018. She was born January 21, 1935 in Columbus, Ohio. She attended St. Joseph Academy there, worked her entire career at Galbreath Mortgage Company, through mergers with first Chemical Bank and finally Chase Manhattan Bank, before retiring in 1996. She started as a secretary and worked up to being a loan analysist and post-closing auditor. She received many awards and recognition for her work ethic and dedication. Ten years ago, after a particularly snowy winter, she was enticed to move to Baton Rouge, Louisiana to be near her nieces and nephews. Polly was a beloved, kind, thoughtful and quiet friend to so many"”she had lifetime friends and easily made new friends. She loved to travel throughout the United States and made forays to Rome, Italy, and the Grand Cayman Islands. Polly fancied cars from her youngest days, and often drove a convertible. Family enjoyed piling in her car many a summer evening for a drive, top down, of course! She loved the beach, crocheting, Ohio State football and later LSU football (so long as the Tigers were not playing the Buckeyes!). Most of all, she loved spending time with her extended family. She was a fun companion and more of a sister than an aunt to nieces Mary McKenzie (John) of Argyle, TX and Maureen Harbourt (Tom) of Baton Rouge, LA and nephews John Noonan (Lisa) of Waco, TX, Frank Noonan (Susan) of Jacksonville, FL and Michael Noonan (Aimee) of Baton Rouge, LA. She is survived by grandnieces/nephews John M. McKenzie (Jade); Liz McKenzie; Sam Harbourt, Joe Harbourt, Dylan Noonan, Cara Noonan, Jesse Noonan Sinks (Adam), Hannah Noonan, Dana Parrish (Wayne), Allen Morgan, Matt Noonan, James Stickles-Noonan, Raynee Stickles-Noonan, Corbett "Cobe" Stickles-Noonan and 4 great grandnieces/nephews. Polly was preceded in death by her parents Eugene Joseph Corbett and Lela Pearl Dresbach Corbett of Columbus, Ohio, her sister Patricia Corbett Noonan and brother-in-law, John P. Noonan. She was a member of St. Catherine's Catholic Church in Columbus and St. Jude Catholic Church in Baton Rouge. Visitation will be held at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government St., Baton Rouge, on Saturday, Aug. 18th, from 10 a.m. until services begin at 11 a.m., officiated by Fr. Trey Nelson. Interment will occur at a later date in Columbus, Ohio and additional services will be conducted at that time. The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff at Sunrise Senior Living (Siegen), Hospice of Baton Rouge, and Dr. Derek Spell of Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center.
