Peggy “Pegi” Thompson Hodges, 61, passed away Monday, December 8, 2014, with her family by her side after a long and faithful battle of ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease). Pegi was born in Plaquemine, Louisiana on March 12th, 1953 to Pershing Thompson and Josephine Walker. In addition to be being a loving mother and grandmother and friend. Pegi was an active member of her church, Life Church. She was an inspiration to all who had the privilege of knowing her and carried an amazing smile and beautiful disposition with her everywhere she went. Pegi was a firm believer in her family and Our Lord, Jesus Christ and would like to be remembered by her faith in the Lord always came first. Pegi is survived by her daughter, Tonya Thompson Raybon and husband Jeff and her son, Sean and wife Amanda Richard; four grandchildren; Kelsey, Celeste, Jake and Mailey; three brothers, Tommy Thompson, Mikel Thompson and wife Tonya and Tim Thompson and wife Connie, four sisters; Darlyn Percle, Pat Melancon and husband Wil, Kitty Lord and husband Steve and Lisa Dufour and husband Kenny. Preceded in death by her parents Pershing Thompson and Josephine Thompson. Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 10th, 2014 5:00pm-9:00pm at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd. Baton Rouge, LA. Celebration of life will be held on Thursday December 11th, 2014 at Life Church in Denham Springs, Louisiana starting with visitation at 8:30am til service time of 10:00am.Interment will immediately follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park, 9595 Florida Blvd. Baton Rouge, LA. Pallbearers are: Tommy Thompson, Mikel Thompson, Tim Thompson, Sean Richard, Jeff Raybon and Eli Dentro. Honorary pallbearers are Butch Calamia and Terry McCain.
