There were three things Peggy would never reveal: her age, her weight, and her shoe size, so we won’t either. She was born in the 1930’s in Baton Rouge and spent part of her childhood in Briggs and Austin, TX. Her family moved back to Baton Rouge, and Peggy resided in Central until her death on Tuesday, March 12, 2013, at the Carpenter House. Peggy was a realtor and worked in advertising at WJBO and Lamar Outdoor Advertising. She was a charter member of American Women in Radio and TV. She is survived by her brother-in-law, Richard Hardgrave; niece, Rebecca Richardson, nephew, Michael Martin, all of Baton Rouge; nephew, “Chip” Hardgrave, of New Orleans; great niece, Jamie Richardson of Philadelphia; and great nephew, Jesse Martin of Austin, TX. Peggy was a gentle, kind, considerate, thoughtful, and above all loving daughter, sister, aunt, and friend who leaves a deep hole in our hearts. Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, Lyman and Letha McAndrew; sister, Dolores Hardgrave; brother, Donnie McAndrew; nephew, Drew Martin; and her beloved dog, Dixie. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home 9595 Florida Blvd. on Saturday, March 16, 2013, from 10 AM until service at 12 PM. Interment will be later that day in Greenoaks Memorial Park. The family wishes to give a special thanks to Our Lady of the Lake ICU doctors, especially Dr. Kantrow and nurse, Mallory. Additionally, a heartfelt thank you to nurse Lisa at the Carpenter House for guiding the family with compassion.
